Does anyone ever find themselves stuck at some job they absolutely hate? The thoughts that I have as my talents are wasted and my time is spent correcting, recorrecting and amending manuals only to be constantly yelled at and mocked by my boss is killing me. I guess because my background originally was in graphic design that I should be put in charge of projects such as these. My life has become a waste of time… day in and day out driving hours to work only to do something outside of my passion. The forest (what i refer to as the web) is my only solice… I find that I can hide deep in the woods and escape the things that bug me most in my life. I have a wonderful life, dont get me wrong, just my boss and all his yes man cohorts feel that in order to improve business a brochure must be redone over and over and over again.</p> <p>I dont understand how when I have the education I have in internet marketing and the understanding Im developing with SEO and SEM that I have they are not willing to access it.

The Elixir Complex

The secret to Internet Marketing and SEO development in my humble opinion should be based on the quality of your content and making this open in an honest and forthright method. Many internet marketing strategies involve trickery or high advertising costs in an effort to persuade the Internet community that they need the product or service offered. Comparable to real life is the often successful but always intrusive is…door to door salesmen who go everywhere and anywhere and adapt their “pitch” to the person they are talking to.

That being said I am a realist, I understand there is a need to market a product or service and “painting the picture” of the ideal situation for the service or product is just how we as a industry have to do it. After spending an evening with one of my best friends last night he talked to me about this very concept…

He asked me what I thought of when I heard the term “Elixir”…at first I replied that it was a cure or a fix all. He corrected me and let me know I was half right. In his mind an Elixir is only as powerful as the person handing it to you. Let me explain…if a bum on the street offered you a new vitamin or medication that would cure your diabetes if taken for a period of time you’d laugh in his face. Now that same pill offered and recommended to you by an establish member of the health industry, now not only do you take it but you believe it works. The Elixir is the idea and not the product and the doctor is selling you on the idea because he/she knows that based on his status in society alone you’ll buy into whatever he’s selling. The true success’ in the world, products or services are those that offer legitimate and honest products and services because they believe that there is a need if the community for it.

This I relate to the difference between fly by night Internet marketers and true content developers that create valid content that not only is in the area or concentration the user is interested in but also helps and assists to reach that persons eventual goal. Do a search for internet marketing or seo development. You’ll find hundreds of sites on the “how to’s” of this subject. Start looking through and you’ll find link forests where someone just packed as many dead end links to long drawn out searches that inevitably end in just time spent on their site and benefit only to them. The person who landed there however, will make sure never to go back. Now, on the flip side, the powerful sites may offer a membership service or an insiders members group but they also feel the need to provide solid, interesting, thought provoking content. They rotate and constantly create more. They provide information that the users honestly and truly want to have and if they choose to go further and purchase a product or service that is completely up to them.

In closing, the real Elixir is allowing the person to make up their own mind as to what they want to do. No pressure, No sales pitches, No email spamming afterward. Give the person what they are truly looking for and if they like it and want more then let them decide that too. The Elixir is the gift of knowledge and knowledge is power. The user not only appreciates you and your site for your help but now will recommend you to everyone they see and talk to.

THE CALM AFTER THE STORM

So today I decided to come into work because I had promised to deliver some last minute after thought promo products that I thought would be a nice touch to the dealer meeting they were having there that day. I had the printer do me a personal favor, print some table cloths and do a shirt which took him all day to digitize for embroidery. I also figured I would get this manual done so that I could start the next week with a clean slate and a clear head on monday.

I should have guessed but my presence was not appreciated and my favor was not thanked for. In fact the general manager took credit for the table cloths and I wasn’t even mentioned. I then was asked to do work outside of what I came to do while I was hear. This, more than anything, should be a reminder to those of you who want to start your own Internet Business or live the internet lifestyle. Once you get to the point of establishment where everything is automated and money making seems easier than you ever dreamed you have to sweat blood and tears to get the knowledge, understanding and discipline to have your own operation such as this. I am not saying that this is always the case but you must treat an Internet Business as just that…a business. You must work and be dedicated to your goals and if that means dealing with the struggles and humiliation from your selfish unappreciative work atmosphere…then thats what you do. The reward will taste that much sweeter.

I have these twisting vines in between my lines. they tell you where to go and you dont even know. the more they hide the better they work. Making you find the smallest niche quark. too many of the same, words that repeat, the spammer you are, you cant compete. As these vines twist into new trees, the branches of others twist back to me. the more posts we have, stuck deep in the ground, make the foundation of power and the to of the rank were found. so the next time you search for the subject you need…think about these twisting vines amidst the mass deep forest, the internet trees.

The Problem with Security

Working for a living in all actuality seems to be the safe bet this day and age. The economies bad and to have a job no matter how awful is better than not. A pay check is a pay check and especially when you have families and mouths to feed other than yourself. The problem is that the mentality of having a job and working a 9-5 as the safe bet is actually more of a security threat then spreading your income around. That one tiny prick of a boss or that bad dip in the stock market could send you right into the unemployment line. All of a sudden your security, your family and your life and well being are all at risk.

Not only outsourcing to other individuals but complex systems and development tools can help you streamline your business and integrate other forms of income as well. The best part of having an internet business is that you are your own boss. I dream of getting up in the morning and sitting on my couch and working for something I really care about.
